“The National HBPA would like to address the recent announcement released by Sen. Tom Udall and Rep. Joe Pitts. On behalf of our 30 affiliates and close to 30,000 individual members within North America, the National HBPA strongly opposes any legislation that seeks to repeal The Interstate Horse Racing Act. The National HBPA believes opposing this legislation, or any similar legislation, will be critical to the economic viability of not only the Thoroughbred racing industry, but the equine industry as a whole.”

The National HBPA is the largest racing horsemen’s representative association in North America, with 30 affiliate member organizations representing over 30,000 owners and trainers of thoroughbred racehorses.
