Claiming Crown Reminder: Deadline is Oct. 26 to Make Horses Eligible for $200 Per Race

THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, IS THE DEADLINE to make your horses eligible for the $1.1 million Claiming Crown to be run November 16 at Churchill Downs.

The eight races total $1.1 million in purses for all levels of horses on both dirt and turf. The minimum purse is $100,000 with the Claiming Crown Jewel offering a $200,000 purse. The non-refundable administrative fee is only $200 to make a horse eligible per race, but the deadline is this Saturday, Oct. 26.

If you miss the deadline, or get a horse after the deadline, you can still make a late eligibility request for $1,000 non-refundable administrative fee at time of entry on Saturday, November 9.

In addition to the purses ranging from $100,000 to $200,000, registered Kentucky-breds will compete for an extra $10,000 to $25,000 from the Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund.
