Important Information for Horsemen about HISA Registration
The National HBPA has agreed to aid in disseminating information intended for our affiliates to forward or post to all members. Understanding the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA) is set to take effect on July 1, 2022, we, along with our affiliates, are encouraging all horsemen/women to register as soon as possible to help with the transition to HISA. Officials from HISA have acknowledged the issues many have had during the registration process and they have assured us the matters are being addressed.We encourage all members to visit THIS LINK to help determine if you are a Covered Person or a Non-Covered Person, which details how individuals are to register.As a participant in the racing industry, you must register as a Covered Person or possibly as a Non-Covered Person with the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority by July 1, 2022. Trainers, if you have horses in your care, you are defined as the responsible person and you must also register your horses.
