Kentucky HBPA Partners with Kentucky Downs, Ellis Park and JockeyTalk360.com to Provide Free Breeders’ Cup Media Coverage

logo_KYHBPAKentucky Downs, Ellis Park, the Kentucky HBPA and JockeyTalk360.com are partnering to provide media coverage of the Breeders’ Cup Nov. 4-5 at Santa Anita, with an emphasis on Kentucky-based horses and horsemen competing in racing’s championship weekend.

Jennie Rees, the award-winning journalist who was turf writer for The (Louisville) Courier-Journal for 32 years, will write daily notes and features with the twin missions of catering to media in Kentucky’s regional racetrack markets as well as providing content of national interest. Rees also will provide iPhone 6 video of horses and racing participants that can be used for websites and television.

The coverage will be available at no charge for use by media outlets and other entities as a service provided by Kentucky Downs, Ellis Park, the Kentucky division of the Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association and the JockeyTalk.360 website. Rees is the director of live-racing publicity for Ellis Park and Kentucky Downs, a communications consultant to the Kentucky HBPA and JockeyTalk360 contributor.

The content, over which Rees has complete autonomy, will be emailed to more than 200 journalists and media outlets. Those  wishing to receive the coverage can email Rees at tracksidejennie@gmail.com.

The service’s daily coverage from Santa Anita will begin Saturday, Oct. 29 and run through Sunday, Nov. 6. Look for it on the Kentucky Downs, Ellis Park, Kentucky HBPA, National HBPA and JockeyTalk360.com social media platforms and elsewhere.
