Oregon HBPA Seeking Candidates for Executive Director Position

The Oregon HBPA is searching for a full time Executive Director for its Oregon operations. A job description will be provided upon request. The position entails preparation for monthly Board meetings, creation of agendas, reviewing minutes, bylaw issues and follow up of Board directives. Includes daily discussions with the President and Board Directors in answering questions and providing information requested. Includes frequent communications to the Board on a variety of issues from local racing updates to national racing news. Budget development, audit preparation, assist in preparation of the annual tax returns for the Association and Foundation and other duties as assigned. Travel is required.

The Executive Director will maintain professionalism in all facets of the job performance. This includes interactions with all of the horse community, the HBPA Board of Directors, Track Management teams, State Racing Commission, National HBPA officials, and all interactions with the general public. All exchanges will be to promote thoroughbred racing in a positive manner.

Qualifications include education and or experience in business and the horse industry equaling four (4) years

Salary will be commensurate with experience
