Trainer Jeff Radosevich sent out his 2,000th career winner Dec. 12 when She’s Slammed captured the second race at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course.

Always well placed just behind early pacesetter P Town Boo, She’s Slammed took over the lead in midstretch and gradually pulled clear to win the six-furlong claiming event by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:16.51 on a fast track. The Illinois-bred 3-year-old daughter of Tale of Ekati , owned by David Downard, returned $5.20 as the 8-5 favorite.

Radosevich hails from a racing family that also includes his father Joe, brothers Jake and Joey, and nephew Jacob, all trainers, and his late nephew Joshua, a jockey who died in a race accident.

Jeff Radosevich began training in the fall of 1993 after a 14-year career in the saddle which saw him win 1,141 races. Primarily based in northeast Ohio, the 54-year-old Richfield, Ohio, resident has several training titles to his credit and has also finished in the top 10 in the nation in wins three times during his career.

Radosevich was joined in the crowded winner’s circle by friends and family members including his wife, Yvonne, and children Justin, Josie, Nina, Billy, and Joshua.

“I have been blessed with good horses, great owners, a patient and supporting family, and a dedicated staff,” he said. “I could not have achieved any of this without them and they all share in my accomplishments.”
